Feature request: Conditional events
Closed this issue · 7 comments
An interesting next step for this would be to incorporate Gravity Forms conditional logic for the events so that different events can be sent to Google Analytics based on form field data.
And along the same lines, ability to have multiple events.
Specific use case:
Say we have a lead generation form for new clients. In that form there is a field that asks if they are a new or returning client. There could be an event for all form submissions in total. And then also conditional events to track submissions from new clients vs. returning.
Love it, I'll definitely put this on the roadmap.
In a way, this is possible using custom actions/labels along with merge tags. But I definitely think that conditional logic has it's place.
Do you see this being setup more like the notifications tab where you have a table view and can add several different "events"?
I think a setup like notifications with the overall list and then clicking through to each "event" with details and conditional logic options would be super cool and is very logical since it keeps inline with the Gravity Forms standard interface. Let me know if I can help with any testing, etc.
@nathanmarks I have a client project that might allow for sponsoring this feature if it means getting it added sooner. Let me know if you're interested.
Hey @intelliweb , there's a chance that it would. Is there a better medium to discuss this on?
@nathanmarks Emailing you now.
@nathanmarks Love what you're doing here! I don't have a client project for this at the moment, but I'd like to offer to add a few bucks to the "bounty" for this feature as well, to help make it more worthwhile to prioritise.

@thompsonpaul and @nathanmarks Still working on getting client approval for this (lot of moving parts on their end) but I'm pretty confident it will get approved.
