Get rid of Marks, and change titles of Task and Hint panes
Closed this issue · 1 comments
I now want to abandon the idea of 'marks' because:
- It is too difficult to figure out how many marks should be given to each task
- It is too difficult to figure out how many to deduct for each hint
- Even if perfect, the marks might not be compatible with an individual teacher's approach to marking.
However, we will continue to monitor the usage of hints and this will be shown in the Hint pane, and recorded on the Assignment.
The hint pane will say e.g.
No hints _available_ for this task
(available added to existing message)
0/3 hints used
...
3/3 hints used
There will be no 'next hint costs' message, but the buttons will continue to operate as now.
The Task header will no longer show any reference to Marks, nor to Hints used.
Take the opportunity to review the title of Task altogether. There is too much duplication of effort and text needed by the author. Current thinking is that the task heading should be:
<project name><language><Task No><TaskName><COMPLETED>
This responsibility lies in the model.
(All actions for retrieving multiple files should return in table view by default showing Name, contentType, Language).
Also to do, change the title of the File created by the Hint, and prove a direct link to the Content View and Edit from within the Hint to save another jump (and loss of context).
