Civil Protection Officers are seen using Flare Guns in Half-Life 2, why not add it as a feature?

Maybe make it so you can spend a couple credits to make it an attachment to your pistol? Since that's what the animation entails

that'd be cool, i can make attachments for weapons such as suppressors and stuff
