When copying openocd.gdb config from stm32f429i-disc crate, I removed a bunch of lines relating to ITM because I don't understand their purpose. I should find out and add them back if they're actually useful.
(ITM, whatever that is, probably doesn't work without those lines, so I'm marking this as a bug.)
