Generic interface missing?

Shouldn't there be a generic interface?

While staring all the moving devices around me, the up-down movement has been made with hole through a plate and the screw goes through it. Then the nut is under the plate. Not the fanciest design but seems to be quite common.

I think the most generic interface would be something where the existing lead screw nut was used. And the interface would allow attaching similar way to existing hole pattern. So that the nut just drops lower and the wobblex comes between.
