Dark theme unavailable for Android 7.1 or lower in Glider 2.0

DeepakParamkusam opened this issue · 2 comments

Glider 2.0 appears to use system theme for dark/light theme, but system wide dark/light theme feature is available only for Android 8.1 and higher. So dark theme cannot be set on lower Android versions.

Same issue is observed on Android derivatives such as Fire OS which don't support system themes.

Both because there are people who would like to configure this per app, and because as you said there are some Android versions that can't configure the theme brightness at all, it's probably a good idea to reintroduce this setting.

A setting to override the theme mode has been added in e80f9f8 and will be part of the next release.
