Blog search fails with Unhandled Runtime Error

What's going wrong

When I go to the "Blog" page and enter a character (e.g. a or ) into the search field, an unhandled runtime error shows up:

The error reads blog.content is undefined.

Interestingly, the search on the "Modules" page works fine.

The error can experienced back to commit a382889 and probably even further, I didn't go farther into the past.
