my vision statement:
I’m working with the public to build an open database of open and shared data resources available in China so that data users can quickly discover "hidden" data resources, learn its status of openness and then negotiate with data providers to openly publish more data.
I‘m working open because the vision cannot be achieved by myself but requires a community effort to proactively discover and record existing data resources and its status of openness. It also requires the community effort to advocate and negotiate with the data providers based upon the evidence we gather.
Hi Feng. I love your project.I know little about policy un China.I would like to know how you Will face the policy restrictions to openess
Hi @Feng-Gao I love your idea too. It's a very board issue. Do you have any specific scope of data you want to collect as the first step?
thanks @veritoportugal @daeus
my project will focus on data opened or published by Chinese gov bodies or other publicly funded institutes. Starting with data relevant to urban life.
and re the policy question, in fact China currently pushes forward the agenda of making more data available as part of its ambitious AI plan
my project open canvas is available at: https://docs.google.com/presentation/d/1iXZ1GLzKgXBY2wyH70TCh5Mg96jgFD8AVC7jxdzUerw/edit?usp=sharing
Hi @Feng-Gao Thanks for your answer. Good to know the Gov has such an AI plan and agenda. I'd love to keep following your project's updates :)
Nice open canvas; very clear. For your Key metrics, will you also include how many users are using your service?
