Make compatible with mac os x
Opened this issue · 18 comments
On my macbook air which is running os x el capitan and has the latest java installed, the model creator doesn't work. I would like to have it working and not crash on me every time I try to open it.
When does it crash? How does it crash?
It crashes when I open it and it won’t react to my mouse or keyboard, and then my mac shuts off.

And this is significant to running model creator?
Yes, because there are no better alternatives on the internet.

Yes, of course!

What do your crash logs say? http://apple.stackexchange.com/questions/26480/where-can-i-find-my-crash-logs
I never get any crash logs.
It just doesn’t work, and when I turn my mac on, it doesn’t show any logs.

Can you create a youtube cilp of the screen when this happens?
I will try, but can I just make the clip and send it to you as a zip and not put it on youtube?

Java 8 build 60, but I also have Java 7 build 79 installed (I doubt it's using that though, since Java 8 is the default, I just have Java 7 installed for some projects that use it to support legacy systems).
Thnx, will take a look ay it.

Please tell me the Java version used
I'm having the same problem, on OS X El Capitan 10.11.6, with Java 8 Build 102. I'm using the universal JAR package for Model Creator pre4. What happens is when the program is launched (via the GUI Finder or the Terminal) the program runs for about 5 sec, the window begins to initialise and then it black-screens my computer. Black-screening a Mac can be comparable to blue-screening a Windows computer, only no diagnostic information is displayed due to the window manager crashing (the software that renders applications, windows and the UI, similar to explorer.exe). Logs aren't recoverable from this, as the black-screen will remain there permanently until you do a hard power-off, where no data is saved. I have tried a couple of workarounds to obtain logs, but none have been successful in obtaining a full log. Using bash redirection, I have managed to obtain a partial log however, which I'll attach below.
