Side bar extends to first space even when in another

Describe the bug
When you open the collapsed sidebar (has to be set to "off-screen" collapse mode), it will always open to the first space no matter which one is currently in use.

To Reproduce

1. Set the collapse mode to "Off-screen" in settings.
2. Open a tab on any space that isn't the first one (if it is the first one, the same thing will happen but that would be the intended behaviour in that case).
3. place your cursor on the left side of the screen to expand the sidebar.
4. It will the open to the first space, even though it should open to whatever space you're on.

Expected behavior
The sidebar should expand to whichever space you're currently using.
