Node selection reset on "back"

Go to the fox dashboard, select "*" for nodes. Click on a node name. Go back. The selection has been reset. This is not ergonomic, normal work with the dashboard will entail selecting some set of nodes and then working with them by going back and forth.
Actually, everything is reset when navigating in the history and this is pretty annoying (I'm being kind). For example, go to the job query and fill out the form. Then you remember you needed to look at something on the main dash, so you click on fox. Now click back. Your form content is gone.
In part this would be a non-problem if the new dashboard had not moved the Job Query link over to the sidebar. As it was, the job query was specific to a cluster and if you clicked on the link there would be a new tab with the cluster name filled out and this would not upset your main dashboard in any way. With the Job Query on the sidebar this flow is broken, and you don't get the cluster name filled out.
I think this actually flies in the face of how the dash will be used. Admins and users will not normally be working with more than one cluster, they will have a cluster-centric view of things, and their workflows should be smooth with that assumption. The new dash and some of the assumptions underlying it seems to violate this.
Indeed, when you go to a subcluster page there is a link to bring up a job query for the subcluster, so why is there not a link from the cluster's main page to bring up the job query for the cluster?
