Suffocating on internals with no-breathing virus

You don't need to breathe, but if you have internals equipped and they run out you'll suffocate. you may just see the O2 meter flashing

Is suffocating with the no-breathing virus intentional?
Suffocating but not passing out, I mean
The behavior I noticed was that the indicator activates, but no actual damage is done, which is intended so you know if you are in a dangerous area or not.
I'd have to test it
Even with the self respiration virus, when you have no oxygen left or you're in space you'll get the suffocation indicator.
I had it yesterday on Sybil. My character was gasping and the screen was slowly getting darker, despite having gotten the messages, "You are now breathing manually," "You don't feel the need to breathe," and "Your lungs feel great!"
I'll test it on NTStation code.
