bulk upload of student registrations failed

I'll email you the file I tried to upload... (shouldn't be on GH).

I did successfully add everyone by pasting emails-only into the other box.

Works fine on my local machine, and a similar test file works fine on Grader.

I have discovered that bulk-add:

fails if names are comma-separated (it adds some of them, but not all of them), but
succeeds if they are carriage return-separated.
