Strange behavior when enabling four gamepads

Tried to enable 4 gamepads by disabling cdc as per another post I saw. The 4th controller displays but everything becomes super laggy. Also there is a light on the arduino pro micro that is constantly flashing that want flashing when doing 3 controllers.
Separate issue if I enable 6 controllers with cdc disabled only the first 5 show up in the Windows test utility.
