ddclient not using the correct IPv6 address

overall it looks like ddclient is not using the correct IPv6 address.
ddclient uses curl to get IPv6 address, looks like this is flawed

dd-client is considered to be legacy, means there will not be any new features being realized for it, the recommended way is to use "guided dns configuration", which is far more reliable using an internal (nextbox-daemon) IP update mechanism
