It could be useful for reporting and displaying results to be able to save specific 3D grid orientations as User View(s) for example. That could help to create multiple screenshots for different properties, repeating a user preferred view in a specific project even after the grid in the 3D view was displaced.
In a nutshell, it would be useful to save a 3D view camera position.
