Hi
we finally updated to 9.1 and we ran into this odd/inconsistent warning
in one of course periods the teacher setup weighted grades in the configuration, proceeds to assign grades to the assingment type yet on the input final grade page she gets this warning
"opensis Course Period is configured as weighted but no weights are assigned to the Assignment Types"
the screenshots can be reviewed in the followig shared doc

Dispite the warning it does look like the weights set by the teacher are taking into account when calculating the final grade.

I would make sure that you have assignment type weights, there is a distinction between course period weight and assignments
weight.

Hi @rogergrant99 ,

I believe the screenshots on the shared file answer your question and point, but if I'm missing something, could you please confirm where the teacher or myself might be missing those weights?

Thank you

On this matter I noticed something
if I setup assigntment types and give them weights... the total weight of an assignment type is for the entire year.. not for the period

so.. picture this
if I setup 4 assignemtn types on P1 and give those weights.. they all have to add up to 100%
but if on P2 I decided I want to use another set of assignment types... and give those weights... I can´t as my 100% is all used up on the other assignments types I used on P1

it would be ideal that as you create an assigment type, that you are able to select wether you want that assignment type to be for the entire school year or for the period in which you are creating that assignment type. In our school we normally don´t use the same assignment types for the entire year, we create new assignment types for each period and in some cases we need to be able to setup weights on those new assignment types.
