Is this plugin seemingly slowing down octopi for anyone else?

I've installed this plugin yesterday, now on the first print since then i'm noticing that updates are slow… extremely slow. The octopi UI updates like once every 2-3 seconds, and i'm wondering if this plugin might be the cause. I've disabled almost all events and only the ones i'm interested in (connectivity events and progress events with extended information) but the problem persists. Meanwhile, the pi has a load of 0.05 which makes this even weirder. Is it possible that this plugin somehow blocks updates or slows down event processing?
