Tracker issue for stuff that may work as project ideas in future years
- astropy/astropy#8723
- asv tool to alert maintainers on performance degradation and/or comment on a PR whether the patch provides any performance changes
- specutils integration with timeseries

Future project ideas should be tracked on the suborg level, I'm closing this now.
