Describe the bug
When attempting to send multiple copies to the printer with IPP driverless printing, only a single copy prints.
The issue does not occur when the same printer is added as "LPD network printer via DNS-SD".
The issue occurs no matter what program is used to try to send multiple copies.
To Reproduce
Add driverless IPP printer on local network (used GUI)
Use any program to send multiple copies of the document to the printer
Only a single copy prints
System Information:
- Linux Mint 21.1

When I searched help forums, all I found were references to some other bugs related to PPD files which have already been fixed.
Hi @biicwlim ,
I'm sorry for late response - would you mind trying adding *cupsManualCopies: true
into your PPD file, reinstall the printer with it and try printing copies?
Your printer supports printing of application/pdf, so CUPS expects it can handle copies - which does not seem to be true.
Per OpenPrinting/cups#787 (comment) such printers (IPP Everywhere printers which claim PDF support but don't support copies) are seriously broken and it would be great if you reported it to the printer manufacturer. We don't plan on supporting workarounds for such printers in CUPS.
However, 'driverless' is PPD generator from cups-filters and libcupsfilters, so the final decision is on their author. I'll reassign the issue to cups-filters.
Sorry, I'm just seeing your reply, and I've tried too many other things since then to probably be able to debug the original issue.
I did find this discussion, relating to what appears to be the base issue. https://unix.stackexchange.com/questions/716784/how-to-reset-the-printing-system-cups
I don't know if it's cups related or a Ubuntu/Mint specific issue, but things print great out of the box or in a live session, and then I can't ever get everything working right again after a restart.
Since the issue seems to have morphed and might not be Cups at all, I'll mark it as closed.
