Menu bar missing

What happened to the menu bar at the top? I just updated to Android-Messages-v5.4.1-win-x64 on a new hard drive install. When I open Android Messages the menu bar at the top is missing, I try to minimize to the tray and the program closes. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling but no change. How do I get the menu bar back?
EDIT: I figured out the problem.
