Mods not updating PP when applied

Using in-game overlay, when applying a mod the PP calculation doesn't update.
Returns this error: [OsuRTDataProviderPlugin]Mods:Unknown(0xFFFFFFFF)
I downloaded the patch from the most recent update (13 days ago) and ran the update file.
When I try to use: 'plugins update' it gives an update for the RealTimePPCalculator, but it never installs and it seems it is always saying there is an update for it.
I assume reinstalling sync completely will fix this, but I don't want to have to redo my config settings for the in-game overlay
Any ideas?
I think in-game overlay settings can be kept by copying config.ini (or at least its [RealTimePPDisplayer.SettingIni] section) over before reinstalling everything over...
