Thanks! I've just run this with valgrind on my 4.2.0 setup and I get no memory errors showing up. I note the input value of cw_Mat_rows is 0x55939c20, which is a 32-bit quantity. Given the various other memory-address-looking things (e.g. 0x55555599ffe0) are roughly 48-bits, if that gets truncated to 32 bits then it will give an invalid address which will therefore cause a segfault.

Can you please check you've done a make realclean, done a git pull and git status to ensure you are on the latest commit of PDL-OpenCV with no local modifications (e.g. to typemaps), and then regenerated your Makefiles, and you're still getting the same error?

Also, observation: that pointer thing is going to be a fatal problem until it gets fixed. rows is simply the first thing called in that test file. If it were something more substantial that used the Mat-wrapping, it would be that which crashed.

@fantasma13 Is this still a problem?

All indices are pointer-like things. So, rows (and others) should be of type PDL_Indx / ptrdiff_t . That may not be the cause of the segfault here, but it should be. Look at my original row(), for example.

In commit 2fab259 make test passes. I therefore close the issue. Please still consider implications of e.g. rows' datatype, see above.

The OpenCV library explicitly says int, though as a legacy C/C++ thing, that is only guaranteed to be "at least 16 bits". Since the final API will be based on the Python interface, which does not wrap rows etc because it leaves that stuff to numpy like I intend to, this is moot.
