This is an interesting one, I've done some research on it with @gpucode in the dev discussion channel (pins). I found out it was some weird edge case with the outputs of vertex shaders not properly being bound to fragment pipeline semantics, but didn't quite find out... why

The same bug occurs in Gates to Infinity too, and only in 2D graphics, 3D graphics work fine. I suspect 2D graphics use a weird VAO configuration that is handled wrong

Apparently I meant to post this on the PSMD issue but the same bug is in both
