Feature Request: pull size from product name
Opened this issue · 4 comments
I hope this is an easy on but I noticed a lot of my product names have the sizes in them (16oz , 40oz)
Is there any way that can be pulled from the name and used as the units if it exists in the name?
Right now the names come as they are from the barcode sources. I'm only adding the (manufacturer)
part.
I can certainly add a way for you to configure a "removal patterns" at some point. I also think the best way for you to keep an accurate inventory (at least when using best before) is to have very specific product names, see 1 barcode per product
That being said you may want to rearrange the barcode sources (they can be dragged and run run top to bottom). A different source may provide names without the units.
im not exactly looking to remove the pattern (although that is a good idea)
i like the idea that there is one product per barcode, im building alot of parent products now :)
i was hoping you could add logic that if there is the term "40oz" or "75count" in the title of the product, then that would be used as the inventory unit conversion along with user-configured default purchase unit
does that makes sense?
It make sense. We could potentially pull in some count metrics out to pre-select the Pack -> Peice. That could also be in the barcode data, I'll have to look into it.
Grocy has Tare Weight but honestly partial consumption is not really part of my workflow yet.
