PasteBar/PasteBarApp

Features & Improvements

Hi @kurdin,

I just discovered your project, amazing work.

The positive things first: feature packed, modern UI, impressively lightweight on Windows 11 (less than 20mb RAM usage).
However, there are some things I would like to see improved to fully switch from CopyQ, let me know what you think:

Localization

Currently, PasteBar does show my language in the settings but doesn't switch the app language when clicking on it. I'd guess the strings aren't translated yet. Plans to open a translation panel like Crowdin or Weblate for community translation contributions ? Both are free for FOSS projects.

Simplified UI

The UI is a little too cluttered for me, it would be nice to be able to simplify the UI by enabling or disabling certain visual elements on PasteBar based on needs.

For example: Showing/hiding specific titlebar elements (Collection tab alltogether, Global search, Pinned, Help, Paste menu ...)

Keyboard shortcuts

For me this is one of the most important features that is lacking on PasteBar, on CopyQ I can quickly do certain tasks with custom shortcuts. I would love to see it implemented in PasteBar as well.

For example :
I use Win + Shift (Left) + < to toggle show/hide the CopyQ clipboard window instead of having to go to the tray menu, right click on app icon and open window.

Edit clipboard history items

On PasteBar you can edit boards and clips pretty much how you like but you can't edit the clipboard history elements. You can just pin, star, save them as text or delete them. Being able to edit them would be nice, in the "View" panel for example.

Also something annoying regarding clipboard history, when you want to delete all of the clipboard history on Windows 3 warning pop-ups show to confirm. Adding an option to hide those pop-ups would be cool.

Import/export

A quick and easy way to import and export full PasteBar settings and database is important. So someone could put the save file on a USB stick and quickly resume his work on another computer with PasteBar for example.

@realgooseman Thank you for your detailed post. I'll create a list of future improvements and use some of your ideas. Thank you again.
