No Right Bar on Arch Linux

fabiocosta0305 opened this issue · 22 comments

The Right Bar (extra keys) doesn't show on Arch Linux builds from OpenSuse server.

They show into Ubuntu build in the same repository as soon you install pw3270-keypads. This doesn't shows on Arch Linux

Only the right bar? Is the function bar ok?

Seens like some glitch in OBS; I'll look on it.

For some reason there's no keypad files when the package is automatically generated from OBS web interface; doing it from OSC command line seens to be ok.

Just check the latest stable and unstable packages generated on obs and they now have the keypad files. Looks like it was a temporary glitch in the package build. Need help for testing the new packages.

Which error?

404 seens like "file not found". Are you using repository or downloading the package?

I never used arch but, if you using repository a refresh could be required to get the correct versions.

It's active on the project (https://build.opensuse.org/package/show/home:PerryWerneck:pw3270/pw3270). Not sure why it's not showing on the repository pages.

Found the problem.

I don't know it's something you can solve or it's OBS generated.

But the .db files generated by OBS and used by pacman (Arch package manager) points to a tar.gz file, but the format on the OBS repositories are .tar.zst. If you can adjust the end file that he should look for, please change for this...

Some output on pacman --debug on this link

Hi,

Thanks! But this is an OBS issue; I don't have access to fix it.

It would be better if you open an issue on OBS project itself: https://github.com/openSUSE/open-build-service

pw3270 on openSUSE Tumbleweed (v5.3-1.3 in repo openSUSE-Tumbleweed-Oss) is still without right bar and without "panels" in the menu bar.

On SUSE (and other rpm based distros) the bars are optionals and can be installed with the package pw3270-keypads but, it's considered unstable and not published (yet) in the main repository yet. It's one of the reasons why this issue is still open.

Thank you @PerryWerneck ! I tried to download and install the package pw3270-keypads from your home:PerryWerneck:pw3270 repo, but it apparently does not work. I will probably have to download the other packages from your repo too, to make it work.

Hi; Yes! You need the updated versions of the application and libraries. They'r all in the same repository.
