FFXIII: Frame Rate Issues Potential Solution
Opened this issue · 4 comments
I know many people are having problems with the frame rate variation in FF13. However, I was tinkering around with stuff and noticed I didn't encounter a single frame rate problem with the HUD switched off via GeDoSaTo. So I tested it further and in scenes (in battle mostly) where there was a stationary drop in FPS, i switched off the HUD and it immediately shot back up to 60fps. Furthermore, switching it back on would immediately drop the FPS back down.
Looking for anyone else to confirm, but also to give Durante and the rest of the team some potential ideas on a way to improve frame rates. I'm not sure why elements that are Rendered after the Hash injection would cause such a huge drop in frames, but I think it may be worth taking a look.
For some reason the current build has made the frame rate a lot worse than normal, disabling the hud makes no difference for me either.
@TheRealDeal51 You are right, the new build seems to no longer work with this. I'm not sure what changed with it, but one of the build notes did mention something about post processing when disabling HUD.
For reference this worked with Build 0.14.1555.
Also, I agree, I seem to be getting worse performance from the new build 1568 in general.
And... I stand corrected again. Disabling HUD in battles definitely improves the frame rate. However, its a bit harder to tell because the new update removes my frame rate counter when disabling HUD, but there is a definite improvement during battles when HUD is disabled. There seriously cant be that much rendering on the HUD that causes over half the frame rate. :/
Hey, I’ve set my resolution to my native: 1360×768, it works but I keep getting around 30 FPS but the CPU and GPU usage never reach max, CPU is around 50%, GPU around 30%…
Like the goal FPS the game wants to reach is only 30, it also happens without the mod, but a little less, Square Enix ¬¬'
renderResolution 1360x768@60
Disabling the HUD helped here, got me the same FPS as when not using the mod.
