[BUG] Change of the auto brake system with V2.4

Opened this issue · 0 comments

I was asked to drop my thoughts as a report here so that's what i'm doing.

With the recent V2.4 update the priority of a working auto brake moved from landing to a possible RTO (rejected take-off). I was told that the devs can't do it for both scenarios and i can understand the fact that this limitation does exist.

My main problem is the shift from landing to a possible RTO. I tried to find some legit numbers online. A page i have found was this:

http://www.boeing.com/commercial/aeromagazine/aero_11/takeoff_story.html

Here you can see that we are talking about 1 RTO out of 2000 take-off. There is even a line that is saying that a 747 pilot has the chance of ONE single RTO in 20 years of flying.

If we go even further and consider the fact that we are playing a game (simulator for the elitists out there) the chance of an RTO is extremely low. Some players are performing multiple landings per day but we only have a RTO once in a blue moon.

The shift of priority for the auto brake doesn't make a lot of sense for me. The numbers don't justify it.

Overall it was a great update but that one issue surprised me quite hard on the runway.
