Karma concept needs better introduction for new users
Closed this issue · 2 comments
Problem
Users may not understand the concept of giving and receiving karma based on the implicit and very short example given by the welcome message.
Possible fixes
Enhance welcome message with clear explanation of karma giving/receiving(moved to #58)- Implement a command that provides explanation / examples for karma giving/receiving
- Detect questions regarding karma in slack. E.g.,
[someone]: what is karma?
. Should check for "karma" + question words "what".
Hello, can I work on the first point of enhancing the welcome message on README.md file. What I understood was that on behaving nicely in the slack group we can give Karma points to other members and the bot and similarly on behaving badly/rudely we deduct points. What goes around comes around, so this bot helps maintain decorum of group chats. If I understood it correctly, should I add this to the welcome message?
@Rishika-7 yes you are on the right track. Ideal would be a more elaborate welcome message with some examples and instructions. The goal is that a non-technical person without any prior knowledge to slack can grasp the concept.
