I tried following your tutorial
just wanted to mention the path to the dbus config has been changed to '/usr/share/dbus-1/session.conf'
source
I also wanted to suggest to relocate the paths of the to-edit files to before what needs to be changed
e.g "In file /usr/share/dbus-1/session.conf, replace x with y"
just UX things

well the dbus thing was still relevant so i'll keep this open for you to close, Made my own version of the tutorial for the arch distro with some small things i had to do seperately, appreciate your tutorioal though ;)
