Missing icons / Consistent text indentation in menus

Closed this issue · 2 comments

Most (tab + context + application) menu items have a corresponding icon. Could the 'missing' icons be added please?

For consistent UI, could icons be added to the main (File, Edit, View, .... Help) menu as well?

Otherwise, if some items are going to remain without an icon, could all menu text be aligned consistently? I.e. all text has the same horizontal left padding regardless of icon.

Icons were added by analogy with Microsoft Edge. No more, no less. It is possible to make indents for menu items without icons, but it is not so easy. First I need to explore the available methods. Only then will I be able to say something more precisely.

IMO
I personally don't see a problem with this. Without indentation, more text is visible, although this is a matter of taste.

It makes it easier to scan down a list and identify what you need with consistent padding - which is why both Edge and Chrome (and every other application I use) follow that principle. It's de facto good UI / UX and should be implemented if possible IMO.
