Difficulty - Nazis are reacting extremely fast

Is it just me or did the nazis get extremely dangerous lately? I was playing at the medium difficulty and I noticed that they are instantly shooting at me after seeing me. I do not remember that paying BoA was so hard months ago. Has something been changed? It feels almost unfair.

Hmm, something did change compared to v3.1. When starting c1m1 (map), the first guard is already alerted before you get to the first bend. The firing rate seems about the same, but the alertness changed a bit.

It looks like an engine problem. The last version w/o this problem was gzdoom-x64-g4.12pre-463-g7f8ce13d2.
After that version the problem started w/ gzdoom-x64-g4.12pre-469-gb1f53e7eb
So plz test w/ 4.12 463 or lower.

Yes

The A_Chase function was moved to ZScript at that time. It's likely that something to do with that is causing this, but I can't tell what.

So it’s likely an engine bug? Or was it moved mod-side?

I've found what I think is the problem... This commit only partially fixed the problem that was intended to be fixed... Will push another bug report if the comment in the commit doesn't get it fixed.

Perfect, thanks for analysing and posting the bug report. Seems like we will stick to GZDoom 4.13 then for a 3.2 release of BoA ;)

This should be fixed engine-side now - can't test until the next dev build is published, though.

This looks fixed in master. You can find the latest compiled version under git's 'actions' btw.

Confirmed, this is fixed in the current GZDoom codebase. Development builds from github only, unfortunately.
