[Question] about mod creation

I was just wondering if you ported this mod because it's an awesome mod and you weren't sure if the original was going to be updated and to improve upon it? Or just to improve on it? Or...just because you wanted to?

actually missed the fact that the original is quilt so that's probably the main reason

Mainly, I just want to play with SuperFancyClouds on fabric but original mod isn't support it. So, I ported it.
Next, I want to improve and try something on it (if I can. I'm a beginner of Minecraft modding :)
