- Line 80: “we will make claims that talk, on average” — I think I know what you’re trying to say overall here, but I’m not quite sure what you mean by “claims that talk”
- Line 84: ratio of what to what?
- Code @ line 106: Add a line interpreting this estimate
- Line 258: You haven’t really discussed/used significance testing up to this point so I don’t think it makes sense to drop it in here unannounced
- Line 368: It might be nice to give a one sentence primer on combinations, at least as far as notation and what exactly this is describing
- Line 385: Could you clarify “Like the treatment group, the control group were also given non-effective drugs”? Was the supposed purpose of the study to test a new treatment against the standard, or to test the standard treatment against a placebo?
- Line 387: Could you also briefly elaborate on “Alsan and Wanamaker (2018) found that it is associated with a decrease in life expectancy at age 45 of up to 1.5 years for Black men”? Was this all black men in the US? Was the cause of the decrease in life expectancy due to newfound distrust of the medical system, or something else related to the study?
- Line 430: “Similar to earlier studies such as Brook et al. (1984), Finkelstein et al. (2012) found that the treatment group was 25 per cent more likely to have insurance than the control group” — this makes it seem like the outcome is getting insurance, and the treatment is some other factor. Is this what you meant to convey? My impression from the preceding paragraphs is that the treatment is insurance and the outcomes being measured are related to health and finances.
- Line 525: “While we are in the third era of survey research, characterized by low participation rates and increased alternatives” — Increased alternatives to what?
- “Implementing surveys” section: I don’t think the Google Forms tutorial is necessary, people probably already know how to use it or can figure it out on their own lol
- Line 574: “this usually does not happen all the time” — What does this mean? Doesn’t happen consistently? Can’t happen at random times?
- Exercises, question 22: Wow I love this question
- Exercises, paper: Link to Appendix A not working

Have changed.
- Line 84: ratio of what to what?
Probably shouldn't describe it as a ratio. Have changed.
- Code @ line 106: Add a line interpreting this estimate
Good idea.
- Line 258: You haven’t really discussed/used significance testing up to this point so I don’t think it makes sense to drop it in here unannounced
Hmmm, we might need to talk about this one. Not sure which bit you're referring to.
- Line 368: It might be nice to give a one sentence primer on combinations, at least as far as notation and what exactly this is describing
Good idea, have added.
- Line 385: Could you clarify “Like the treatment group, the control group were also given non-effective drugs”? Was the supposed purpose of the study to test a new treatment against the standard, or to test the standard treatment against a placebo?
Have tried to re-write.

Have tried to better explain what is happening.
- Line 430: “Similar to earlier studies such as Brook et al. (1984), Finkelstein et al. (2012) found that the treatment group was 25 per cent more likely to have insurance than the control group” — this makes it seem like the outcome is getting insurance, and the treatment is some other factor. Have remove that bit.
- Line 525: “While we are in the third era of survey research, characterized by low participation rates and increased alternatives” — Increased alternatives to what?
Have clarified.
- “Implementing surveys” section: I don’t think the Google Forms tutorial is necessary, people probably already know how to use it or can figure it out on their own lol
Righto. Have removed.
There's kind of no content here now, but will add more paragraphs about other options and then a summary or something.
- Line 574: “this usually does not happen all the time” — What does this mean? Doesn’t happen consistently? Can’t happen at random times?
Sorry, have re-written.
- Exercises, question 22: Wow I love this question
Generous, thank you.
- Exercises, paper: Link to Appendix A not working
It works for me but it's got a weird 'Appendix Chapter ' thing. I don't know what happened, but I'm hoping it's just a bug in Quarto not recognizing that I asked it to remove Chapter.
