[BUG]: Double click creates new node but deselects it

Describe the bug
when create the default node using double click the created node is deselected, while it is selected when created using context menu

To Reproduce
Steps to reproduce the behavior:

1. double click on empty space
2. see the node selection

Expected behavior
created node should be selected
