Publish the fs image

So I was too late with the rooting and my LG TV has been OTA patched. I actually wanted to dig around inside the firmware to try to reverse the content store URL pattern, so that we can dl store apps and unpack them. This could be useful for research purposes, for example to check that there are no backdoors/exploits in the apps that we install on our TVs.

So my question is - would someone be so kind as to publish a full (or partial) dump of the filesystem, so that we can have a look inside?

You can find firmware images on LG's website, and decrypt and extract them using https://github.com/openlgtv/epk2extract

Depending on your TV's webOS version and whether you've updated to the very latest firmware version, it may not be too late. See the crashd guide for details. Also, if it's webOS 5+, it might still have the WTA backdoor.

Even if crashd and WTA do not work on your TV (i.e., it's either webOS <4 or patched), as long as you do not apply any new updates you will eventually be able to root it.
