macOS Catalina runs in a dedicated, read-only system volume — which means it is completely separate from all other data, and nothing can overwrite your critical operating system files.

I think this is the reason I am getting Cannot find module errors when running my application.

Ignore me, user error. Starting a new project and forgot I had to add extra scripts to my project.
