Issue with superio when lframe is shorted to d0 point like in a 1.6 install

When I tried to use a superio serial board in a 1.6 console with the 1.6 jumper shorted, the superio board refused to work. This went away when the jumper was cut. I'd take a guess that the lframe cancellation for the xyclops rom is also cancelling the calls to the superio board.
