meta-predmnt

meta-predmnt is a meta layer for Linux Yocto based distributions to get the Predictive Maintenance Platform application from STMicroelectronics running on a Linux gateway. It contains the recipes to install the Predictive Maintenance application, the Amazon AWS Greengrass service for edge computing, and other required Python packages (see “meta-predmnt/conf/layer.conf” file for further details).

Dependencies

The meta-predmnt layer depends on the following layers:

  • meta-python

Installation

The meta-predmnt layer can be download to a PC from its GitHub repository. First, move to the directory of your distribution, e.g.:

$ cd <path-to>/openstlinux-<version>/layers

Clone the GitHub repository:

$ git clone https://github.com/STMicroelectronics/meta-predmnt

Enter the configuration folder, e.g.:

$ cd <path-to>/openstlinux-<version>/build-openstlinuxweston-stm32mp1/conf/

Copy and paste the following line within the “bblayers.conf” file, just before the “BBLAYERS” token definition, and check that the “BBLAYERS” token contains the “FRAMEWORKLAYERS” token, otherwise add it:

$ FRAMEWORKLAYERS += "${@'${OEROOT}/layers/meta-predmnt' if os.path.isfile('${OEROOT}/layers/meta-predmnt/conf/layer.conf') else ''}"

You can now build your distribution with BitBake.

Platforms

The Predictive Maintenance Platform application can run on a Linux gateway, for example the STMicroelectronics STM32MP157F-DK2 discovery kit.
