Especially Ruff, but also repo-review (when integrated)

We can adopt the general approach developed for ruff in Iris, broadly

• a to-do checklist of excluded checks
• a regular review process to pick off + address individual checklist items

Items include -

• ruff codes
• MyPy settings
• docstring checker (e.g. napoleon, nothing at present ??)
