UX Design

I tried making a sequence now that I can go forward and backward in the timeline. I find the UX design confusing. It's not very intuitive to select the effect > choose the colour > click a light on the dome > click apply in the effect box. I'm thinking the "apply" button should be by the dome and say "save frame" or something like that.

Actually, now that I've talked through it with a couple people at SW. I think we should only have the "apply" button for the pre-defined effects and when you click apply, it puts it onto the dome without having to click one of the lights. But for the effects like "finger paint", "fireworks", "horizontal rings" and "vertical rings", there shouldn't be an apply button and maybe some instructions in place of the button.

So would you have the apply button appear first (if it is appropriate) and then when you have applied the effect then a save effect button is shown in it's place?

probably no button if its something that doesnt need a setting saved or applied

In resume, fire-and-save for "single shot" effects and apply for multi parameter effects?
