Guess it's time to abandon the web version...
just checked the website and ccss has gone
well deserved to be on uBlock badware list
I went to go use it after having just used it the previous day and all of a sudden I saw it had been bought by LimeWire. Now they own Snapdrop and Sharedrop?
Any good alternatives?

Until they also sell their soul.
@lukebouch snapdrop.net was unfortunately also silently acquired by LimeWire (commit by the same person as this current repo) but pairdrop.net seems safe and is also open source
rest in piss sharedrop ๐๐ข
Crazy
Oh ublock saved me
For real. Or else I would've never known.
Sharedrop was great n all but pairdrop is way better than it now that I've been using it for a little bit

ShareDrop.io was acquired by LimeWire and no longer follows its original peer-to-peer vision. For a safer, community-maintained alternative:
I forked ShareDrop's open-source code, modernized its dependencies (replaced deprecated Firebase auth), and relaunched it at sharedrop.stream. Key points:
Your files never touch my server โ transfers are direct (WebRTC).
Code is auditable: GitHub
Detailed rebuild process: Medium article
Contributions/feedback are welcome!
In my opinion pairdrop.net is way better
A mirror of ShareDrop.app is available here ShareDrop.app, with the core code untouched, everything functions just as before.
I've seen people recommend Local-Send, but I prefer NetCat because it's less bloated
