No theme.lock?

I haven't used native Theme kit (not via node), so I'm not sure at what point in the process the theme.lock file comes into play, but I've been playing around with it downloading/uploading files to my development store and there is no theme.lock being generated.
Is there something I'm missing, or is this a bug with node-themekit?
