Internet (eth0) interface connection dies

Opened this issue · 2 comments

Hi, I just noticed the following issue. I am running Kali in a VM so the guest virtual adapter (eth0) is really a bridge to the host WiFi's Centrino one. I am not sure if that's the reason but my internet connection inside Kali (the guest), dies immediately after starting the pwnstar script. Do you have any idea why?.

Thanks,

Hi, sorry for the delay.
I have had this problem in the past where the script macchanged eth0, causing the VM to lose the interface. I thought it was now fixed (see from line 300 in the current version). Could you a) check your script is up-to-date, and b) try to work out if eth0 is still being macchanged.
FWIW, I have no problems in VMware Fusion 6.0.2 on a Macbook Air.

Hey, how is it going man?, I just removed the git directory, did another git clone https://github.com/SilverFoxx/PwnSTAR.git to get the latest version, ran the ./installer.sh, and everything went fine, but when I ran ./pwnstar (it executed successfully though) the internet went down again. MAC address seems to be the same and it looks like I am even keeping the same IP address and gateway but I cannot ping anything like if the interface was down. I even did an ifdown eth0 and ifup eth0 and it comes back with an IP lease but I cannot still get to ping anything, not even my gateway or my own DHCP IP. Do you have gtalk or something?, so maybe we could chat whenever you have some time?. or what do you think?. I am running vmware workstation 10.0.2 Build 1744117.
