Alarm doesn't ring at all

Hi there!
The alarm doesn't seem to register with the OS. Like I don't see an alarm icon on the top right beside the network and battery indicators.
This seems to mean that when the app is inevitably killed by the OS then it doesn't make any sound?
I am on a Xaomi 9T, let me know if I can help debug it...
I pay for all your apps and like them a lot!
what app and OS version you use at all?
Its an MIUI 12.5.1 (android 11).
I am using the latest play store version 5.11.2.
I see the notification category alarm in the settings too.
same thing in samsung smartphone. the alarm icon doesnt appear top right, but the alarm is ringing.
This is an issue for me now too. I have a Samsung Galaxy A13 5G running Android 13. I already tried going back a few versions but still have the same issue.
