Photo of contacts missing from contact list (in private storage)

Simple Dailer is I think the first application I've seen where the contact list doesn't have the default contact photo (when available) as an avatar but only the letter.
It's a shame because it's harder to distinguish the contacts.
As the list is in alphabetical order all the contacts have the same icon A.. then B... then C.
It would help a lot if you had a thumbnail photo of the contact instead of the letter.
Could you please consider integrating this feature? :)
Thank you
what do you mean, what is a default contact photo?
thats how it should work already. Do those photos show well in Simple Contacts?
OK, thanks. I did find it odd.
Yes, in the Simple Contacts application, you can see the photos in the list. It's only in the list in the dialer application.
I reinstalled the 2 applications and got the same result.
Here's the procedure I followed:
- In the Simple Contact application, I did a .vcf import of my contacts (from the Samsung Contact application and the Contact AOSP application (tested the 2 cases to see if there was a difference)).
- I imported them onto the phone memory (so into the private area).
- In the Contacts application, I authorise the use of contacts in Simple dialer, Simple SMS and Simple calendar.
- In simple contact, I've enabled thumbnails in contacts.
The result is as follows:
- In Simple Contacts (v6.22.4), I can see the photos in the list and in the contact details.
- In Simple Dialer (v5.18.0), I can't see the photos in the list. Only in the contact details.
- In Simple SMS (v5.18.2), I can't see the photos in the list. There are no contact details, so I can't tell in this case.
Note:
If I insert a photo of the contact directly from the dialer, I get the same result - no photo in the list but only in the details.
Important:
When the contact is in the device zone (public zone), the photo is shown in the list.✅
