Instead, if i ever wish to change to the alternative view format, i need to first open Settings.
Audio Notifications.
Is there some special trick i need to learn? 🤷♀️
In Settings, the sound happily plays each time i change to one of the various options in the list. It's just that i never hear whichever sound i've set, when new items actually later download. 🙉
I've also set Desktop Notification to be On, & at least that does work.

Seems i might have completely misunderstood the design function of this icon. I certainly believed [from icon itself, + its hover-text] that this was supposed to be a way for users to quickly change from the 2-column to 3-column view/layout, without needing to open Settings. However now i've discovered it actually seems to merely hide/show all embedded media in the feed. That's very unintuitive, based on icon/hover-text.
So is it malfunctioning, or otherwise, please can its name be edited to much better explain its true purpose?
