Placeholder only works with multiple attribute at true on the select

This is not a bug. When a tag is created in HTML5, browsers set the selectedIndex to 0 if nothing has been selected which means the first option will be selected. This means there is no way to have "no option selected" on a non-multiple select therefore preventing to design a placeholder.
