Virtual Category - Subcategory Inherit Virtual Category Default Sort

This use case is for a New Products virtual category. We set the sort direction to newest first (custom attribtue) on the virtual category, all is good on the New Products category, but then when you click a subcategory the sort order is taken from that subcategory, and newest products are no longer displayed first.

Maybe a setting on the virtual category to "Apply Default Sort to Virtaul Category Root Subtree" or default logic to apply the virtial category sort (possibly other settings) to the virtual subtree.
